Four years after the layoffs, "There's no time to waste. The consortium must be formed and begin negotiations immediately."

"Four years is not a milestone to celebrate, but a reason to be outraged": the factory collective of the former GKN reiterated this at the conclusion of the two-day event organized precisely four years after that July 9, 2021, when the workers' lives were turned upside down by the email announcing their dismissal . Two days, Friday and Saturday, which concluded yesterday morning with the popular shareholder meeting, in which "700 people took part".

"The industrial plan ," they added, "is ready to go. It would be capable of creating 100 jobs, as the first cornerstone of reindustrialization . Let's not waste any more time." This comes after "thousands of people attended the concert organized in Piazza Poggi, which concluded with a march downtown on the night between Friday and Saturday." The assembly, however, was updated on the state of the industrial plan and to relaunch the Industrial Consortium: "The plan is based on four production lines, agreements with machinery suppliers, financiers, and stress tests for the various phases. We could start creating 100 jobs, where financial speculation and potential real estate speculation only aim to create unemployment. The summer can be used to wear us down or to clear out the garrison. There's no time to waste. The consortium must be formed and begin negotiations immediately to bring jobs back to a factory that has been idle for four years."

Finally, a summary of the past year: "Since May 2024 alone, at least six major events have been held (protests, concerts, assemblies, festivals), practically one every two months. This doesn't even include dozens of smaller initiatives: there have been months in which not a single day has passed without an event, assembly, or initiative related to the former GKN dispute taking place somewhere in Italy or Europe."
